ENCOURAGEMENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS' TEAMS FACING SIMILAR FATESDear OU Alumni,I understand that this is a difficult time to have pride in your school. In September James Madison in Virginia cut 10 teams. As the student athlete president, I have been leading a fight to try and reverse the decision. I write to you, encouraging you to not give up.Alumni have the greatest voices for any University. Take a stand and let your voice be heard. Flood the President's office, athletic administration, and the Board with letters. Write to the papers around OU and get the word out there that you disagree with this.We staged rallies on campus and at the Department of Education in DC. When students do something on campus, be there for support. Athletics have played a huge role in our lives and should continue to be offered. There is a national trend of cutting the so called "minor sports.
